"Know how" is a phrase seldom heard these days but it truly tells you what you need to know about us. We are making a difference in public Child Protective Services because we've "been there and done that" and we know how to help child welfare agencies improve. We promote Child Protective Services that are social service oriented; family system focused; and the least intrusive necessary to assure effectiveness. We've become known as the safety intervention organization.
Child Safety Intervention
The essence of Child Protective Services (CPS) is child safety intervention. So, that's our main business. For more than two decades we have been writing, consulting, training and providing technical assistance to child welfare agencies to improve child safety intervention. No matter what else agencies do we believe that creating and maintaining an effective safety intervention system is fundamental to implementing effective CPS. Therefore, child safety intervention is the center of our attention. That means, while we are capable in addressing any aspect of child welfare services and CPS, we remained focused on the need, first, for capable, successful safety intervention.
Featured Initiatives
We have made a priority throughout our existence of attempting to "stay ahead of the curve" when it comes to developing innovative, useful and proven approaches to Child Protective Services. It is our intention to provide the leadership and creative energy the child welfare field needs in order to continue to advance the state of the art and the quality and effectiveness available day to day in child welfare agencies. In that spirit we offer you a look at four such type initiatives.
National Resource Center for Child Protective Services
ACTION for Child Protection, Inc operates The National Resource Center for Child Protective Services (NRCCPS) on behalf of the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NRCCPS provides training and technical assistance to build the capacity of State, local, Tribal and other publicly administered or supported child welfare agencies to achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families. Though NRCCPS we can help "make a difference" in your agency.
